The first red flag is the desk is behind a wall with a metal screen like a security office. They don’t want to have contact with the guests, and I quickly found out why. I woke on the first morning to the sound of a domestic dispute across the hall. A woman and man were yelling at each other, and the woman was thrown up against the wall. The staff did nothing. I feel unsafe here for me and my belongings. I have seen sketchy people on the premises who might break into my room and steal my belongings when I am not here. If I had known of the security issues here, I would not have made a reservation. However, the biggest indicator that this place is shady is that it goes by a different name on these review websites. The business website and sign outside the hotel says Woodspring Suites. However, this site and others list it as Value Place. They certainly have something to hide if they have an alias on these sites. A legitimate website should allow a customer and change the checkout date and provide a refund.
The website advertises this facility as 100% non-smoking rooms. However, the hallway has a strong smell of cigarette smoke which I don't like. I can also detect the smell of smoke in my room because people have smoked in this room previously. I have had difficulty breathing in this room and am concerned for the impact on my health. I can’t sleep and have a headache. People also smoke outside the building, and the wall unit sucks that smoke from the outside and blows it inside my room.
From the outside it looks nice. Saw multiple dead raoches in the hallway and in the room. The room has this musty nasty smell I tried everything to get rid of. The floors in the room were so dirty I could feel my feet sticking to the carpet. My feet were black after walking around the room barefoot. The bed was comfy. The AC in the room didn't seem to work right. At night it would get warm even when I had put it on 60. You can hear everyone walking stomping and talking in the halls all hours or the day/night. Walked out the back one night to get things out of my car and there was a man sitting by the door smoking marijuana. This is not somewhere I could bring kids. For the price it was not bad it is super cheap. The rooms need to be cleaned a little better. Little stove top in room was convenient, only two tiny burners though.
The channel list provided does not match the channels on the TV so good luck finding a specific station. However, the TV does have digital channels so that is only pro for the room.
I just learned that the desk is only staffed limited hours a day. The earliest checkout time on a weekday is 9 am with later times on the weekend. I need a very early checkout to take a shuttle to the airport for a flight. Therefore, I want to leave this hotel and find another hotel with better accommodations. However, the hotel will not give me a refund so I am forced to stay here and leave my key cards in the room. This means that I will not be able to get a detailed receipt of my travel voucher and reimbursement. The desk clerk was uncaring and unfriendly. Stay away from this place especially if you are military and need proper documentation for reimbursement. Military should take your PCS entitlement elsewhere so you don’t waste it here and regret your decision.
They are amazing company to stay with. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Management is fantastic. Melissa and Kay are the best management ever!
I found damage to the counter and desk which I am afraid they may blame and charge me for the damage. The carpet is also stained in a few spots, and I wasn't expecting carpet. The pictures on the website show hardwood floors in the bedroom area. I informed two staff members of the damage, and they did not provide any written acknowledgement of the pre-existing condition. This will allow them to blame me because I have no written evidence.
Very nice place to stay. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly.
My room has bugs. I have found at least half a dozen orange lady bugs crawling on the walls and ceiling. There is also some dead bugs under the wall unit and on the window sill.
Front desk clerk was friendly and helpful, room was very nice and clean. Would definitely stay here again
The kitchenette has no dishes, cookware, or silverware. I have stayed at extended stay hotels that provide everything that you need. The room service is also every two weeks here instead of every week which I don’t mind but some might.
The heater does not function properly. I have the fan speed on auto which means the system should shut off when the set temperature is reached. The system never shuts off, and it will start blowing cool air when the set temperature is reached.
The website also advertises free Internet which is somewhat true. The hotel provides free "basic" Internet which is acceptable for web browsing and email. However, you can't stream video with it. You will have to pay for the "fast" connect which is $5/day, $15/week, and $20/month.
There is mysterious motion sensor in the room. It doesn’t control the lights or anything else so why is it here?
